To help bring some normality back into the lives of the poor and the needy, the Sanjay Anand Charitable Foundation joined hands with The Bharat Vikas Viklang Punarvas Kendra. This joint venture is now known as The Bharat Vikas Sanjay Anand Viklang (Disabled) Hospital and Research Centre.

The Bharat Vikas Sanjay Anand Viklang (Disabled) Hospital and Research Centre is located in Patna, Bihar, India. The Hospital is fully equipped with-

  • P&O
  • Orthopaedically handicapped surgery unit
  • Physiotherapy centre with state-of-the-art technique facility for P&O

The Bharat Vikas Sanjay Anand Viklang (Disabled) Hospital and Research Centre specialises in Prosthetic and Orthotic as well as corrective and innovative surgery for OH Group (upper and lower extremities).

Our Services

The following specialised services are provided at the hospital-

  • Orthotics
  • Hearing Impaired (Audiology)
  • Physiotherapy
  • CP Clinic- Occupational Therapy
  • Correction surgery for OH Group (upper and lower extremities)
  • Innovative surgery and/or support aids for the rehabilitation of CP cases

  • Cosmetic requirements in Prosthesis and orthotics
  • Research-oriented activities.

The hospital has been renovated as per German standards and plans approved by Germany. Machines were imported from Ottobock to incorporate state-of-the-art technology from Germany. This has enabled the hospital to expand the manufacturing process and has tremendously helped towards increasing the efficiency of treating patients.

The Bharat Vikas Sanjay Anand Viklang (Disabled) Hospital & Research Centre is the only facility in India which manufactures prosthetic limbs to German standards and technology, and provides them to the patients “FREE of cost”.

Our Causes

Cataract Surgeries & IOU Lens Implants

Eye surgeries are conducted for the removal of cataract and the implantation of IOU Lenses. One hundred surgeries are conducted per month since June 1996 to date.

Soup Kitchen

A Soup Kitchen is sponsored twice a week in Staten Island, New York for the past 20 years.

Approximately 3600 poor people are fed annually through the Soup Kitchens sponsored by the Foundation.

Charitable Hospital & Research Centre

A hospital has been built in Patna, India, in collaboration with The Bharat Vikas Viklang Punarvas Kendra, to provide prosthetic limbs to the disabled and opened a surgery ward for Polio surgeries for young children.

Adopt A Highway

We have also adopted a one mile stretch of the West Shore Expressway, in Staten Island, New York through the Adopt-A-Highway program from the department of transport.
